My brother was the CSM collector in our house and I always thought the mini's looked so badass. I joined the hobby back in 2001(ish) and CSM got a massive update in '04 (I think) so they looked very fresh faced compared to some of the models I had at the time that were throwbacks to even earlier editions of the game.

With my favourite legions being the survivors from Istvaan V it was only natural that my brother collected the nefarious Iron Warriors…as well as being relatively simple to paint.

This is the first of the CSM I promised to paint for him around 2017 and it was my first exposure to OSL (Object Source Lighting) and using snow texture paints.
