Clan Stryke…
Hell-o,
I spoke of setbacks in my last post and a lot has happened since then.
I was hoping I had gotten through the worst of it but I wasn’t, I was just in the eye of the storm.
I will make this as concise as possible and address all the points I can so please bear with me.
The reason for the long time between updates is that I got sick again and it kicked my ass. It wasn’t the virus but it’s a chronic illness I don’t want to talk about right now; all I’ll say is that I’m mostly fine and not dying (that I know of) and will continue with updates again as regularly as I can, illness permitting.
So, on with the good stuff.
I successfully completed the leader for my Clan Stryke based on Queek Headtaker. Ratu-Phan is the name I gave him (meaning “thirteen” in Stryke code or “Leader who appears”) and I’m pretty pleased with him and that I managed to finish him in time (you’ll have to trust me on that one). I’ll upload some pictures of him soon.
I started March’s squad (or “mischief” if you’d rather) who I dubbed the “Yanni-Kumo” (Meaning “Dark Spider” in their code-speak as they work as one with many legs). They are classic Stormvermin who I have loved the sculpts for, for well over a decade now. I envisaged painting all forty of them would be hard but I never anticipated HOW hard. I managed to paint eleven fully and three more just need the armour finishing but that’s when everything began to unravel.
The bad stuff.
My illness arose again from the deep and hit me like a truck. I am a little disappointed that my plan has fallen apart so soon for my Clan Stryke army but I knew if it was going to be hit with snags, it would be with the Stormvermin. I have focused the latter half of March and most of April to getting better and painting little bits for fun where possible but I will be back on top soon (I hope).
The future.
I have some pretty big things in the works behind the scenes but that doesn’t mean an end to Clan Stryke. I will continue supporting my Skaven army albeit a little slower than I would have liked...I might decide to paint half units for a little while so I can focus more on them and be able to do… well, you’ll see.
I will be back soon with the finished Ratu-Phan in all his glory and I’ll post some more lore I’ve come up with for the army as a whole. Who knows, I might even post some pictures of the finished Yanni-Kumo, only time will tell.
I hope this is the end of my bad fortune and you can count on this if anything, I will not be finishing a post with the words “I’ll be back soon enough” ever again.
I hope you are well and I’ll be back...when I’m back.
Yours,
Forever in horror,
