“Tron” the Necron

This is another model I was kindly gifted by Alan/Alex/Andrew (thanks guys!)

At the time of painting this guy, the Necrons had (seemingly) been forgotten about since their big release around 2015 (please correct me if wrong) as prior to this they were just a bunch of metal models...these guys were ACTUAL PLASTIC!!! With see-through, green plastic bits too!!! (This really was special at the time as I don’t think there were any kits with anything other than the standard grey plastic we all knew and loved).

This guy was handily already built for me so I used the character they had created to direct my paint job. You’ll see that he has only one hand, the other is melted to the gun; that’s fine, “Tron” was in a terrible smelting accident. The gun has some wonky points of contact; that’s ok, it’s damaged and the light is bleeding out of where it’s been knocked in battle.

I can’t say I wasn’t a bit gutted that I had just finished doing my rusty boi here and literally the week I was going to post him, the new edition dropped with wonky Necrons, all dirty and rusty. I was trying to do something different but now he was going to look old fashioned and the same as all the other rusty boys… oh well, that will teach me to paint a little quicker; for once I could have been a trend setter haha! *sigh*
